Check the per-user proxy settings in the Windows registry
Read ProxyEnable and ProxyServer from HKCU Internet Settings to see the proxy configured in Windows Settings.
Run `reg query "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyEnable` — 0x1 means a proxy is on, then read ProxyServer for the address.
01Command
Command
$ reg query "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyEnable & reg query "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyServer02What it does
The proxy you configure in Windows Settings (used by Edge, Chrome and most apps) lives under HKCU Internet Settings. ProxyEnable shows whether it is active (0x1) or off (0x0), and ProxyServer holds the address and port. Malware and leftover corporate tools sometimes flip these values, which explains pages failing to load while other apps work.
03Risk
!Warning: This is a read-only check. Do not edit these values by hand to turn a proxy off — change it in Settings so apps pick it up correctly.
04Undo
✓No undo needed — this command does not change persistent state.
