Run Get-NetAdapter | Format-Table Name, Status, LinkSpeed, MacAddress -AutoSize in PowerShell.

01Command

Command
$ Get-NetAdapter | Format-Table Name, Status, LinkSpeed, MacAddress -AutoSize

02What it does

Get-NetAdapter prints one row per physical and virtual adapter, including whether it is Up or Disconnected and the negotiated link speed (e.g. 1 Gbps). If a cable-connected adapter shows a low speed or MediaDisconnected state, you have found the cause of slow transfers before opening Device Manager.

!Warning: Virtual adapters from VPNs, Hyper-V and WSL appear here too — judge your physical connection by the matching adapter name.

04Undo

✓No undo needed — this command does not change persistent state.
