Export System Information with msinfo32 /report
Dump msinfo32's hardware and software inventory to a text file from the command line.
01Command
$ msinfo32 /report "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\msinfo.txt" /categories +SystemSummary02What it does
msinfo32 GUI is easy to forget, and so is the fact that it can be driven entirely from the command line. /report writes the selected categories to a text or .nfo file; /categories +SystemSummary limits output to the summary, while `+All` (or omitting /categories) exports the complete inventory including components and software environment. This produces the exact file most IT support asks for.
