Show and set the WinHTTP proxy on Windows
Inspect the machine-level proxy with netsh winhttp show proxy and change it with set or reset.
01Command
$ netsh winhttp show proxy02What it does
WinHTTP is the proxy that system services and many CLI tools use; it is separate from the per-user proxy in Settings. `netsh winhttp show proxy` reveals whether a proxy is configured and what it points to. Companies often set this on managed machines, and leftover values can silently break downloads and updates.
03Risk
04Undo
$ netsh winhttp reset proxy05Sources
